Basic Navigation and Orienteering

In this class, we will cover the basics of land navigation, Understanding maps and legends, How to read and orient your map with your compass, and basic compass anatomy and functions. We will cover how to plan your trip from A-Z and what to do when things go sideways, and how to get yourself un-lost when exploring off-trail or bushwacking and you get turned around. We will also discuss map resources and where to find and how to make your own maps.
