Rick Dunlap
Rick Dunlap is Co-Owner of Bushcraft North Carolina and administrator of Bushcraft North Carolina (Face Book). He is a certified Instructor for the Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) Standard First Aid, CPR, AED, Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider and Wilderness First Aid for the past 19 years. He serves as an instructor for the Old North State Council, Scouting USA (Health and Safety). He has served as Health Officer at Cherokee Scout Reservation (BSA), in North Carolina. He is a retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major, Combat Veteran, Drill Sergeant and served 25 years, His Military Occupational Specialty was Military Police, serving ten years as a paratrooper at Fort Bragg, NC (with the 82d Airborne Division & the 16th Military Brigade). A retired North Carolina High School teacher, he has taught youth first aid classes at Uitwaaen Bushcraft Gathering in Pennsylvania and at the Georgia Bushcraft Gathering (2021). He’ll be teaching the youth the importance of Self Aid and Hygiene in the Outdoors and the five Bushcraft (B’s) injuries: Bleeding, Breaks, Burns, Bites and Blisters. Teaching is one of his passions an he believes passing on skills onto our children is passing it on to theirs.
