Campfire Cooking
This is an introduction to cooking over an open fire utilizing cast iron cookware and primitive implements such as green wood grates and rocks. We will discuss wood selection for general cooking and smoking flavors, as well as, toxic woods to avoid. In addition, review fire and coal maintenanceWe will learn proper utensils, tools and maintenance and cooking techniques - baking, frying and stews. A demonstration on how to build a tripod will be given.
